Memory Loss

Since Damon has been gone I have had the WORST memory. I used to be sharp as a tack when it came to remembering thigns (not bragging) a steel trap mind as they would say. Since his passing on, I cannot seem to remember a lot of things for work. I just wonder if you can really lose a part of your memory skills if a serious trauma occurs in your life. Does anyone know?

I dont know for sure, but I think it would have something to do with it, cause a persons mind is sad and lonely kinda lost for awhile after a tragedy happens, and that might make you have a hard time with the things you once remembered so well.

Yes, it's very common to have the same kind of spell after trauma as you do after having a baby (lots of memory loss). Some of it has to do with sleep depravation. You sleep different for a while when you're grieving. Concentration is very much affected when a large part of your brain is given over to processing a big event and trying to learn ways to deal with it. Some people try to do mind exercises (like games or anything that stimuulates you to concentrate) to retrain their focus. It does get better. My folks died nine months apart without Jesus and I remember walking around like a zombie for a long time. But the Lord kept me and helped my focus to come back. At that time He used homeschooling for me and I HAD to concentrate to keep up with Brad! Hugs...Sis Julie
